‘Storied Friends’ Open House

Immerse yourself in the equine world of author, Marguerite Henry and illustrator, Wesley Dennis, the pair responsible for dreaming up the beloved children’s classics Misty of Chincoteague, Justin Morgan Had a Horse, King of the Wind, and many more. During the NSLM’s Family Weekend on May 21st and 22nd , the NSLM will be celebrating the upcoming exhibit Storied Friends: Marguerite Henry and Wesley Dennis with an open house! Bring your family and learn more about the imagination and artistry that sprang from this friendship.

Docent tours of the exhibit will be available in the Forrest E. Mars, Sr. Exhibit Hall where you will have the chance to embrace your nostalgia or discover these equine worlds for the very first time!

Don’t forget to join us during story-time for an interactive reading of excerpts from these classics and get the chance to walk in Henry and Dennis’s footsteps by imagining your own ‘writing world’ through a fun family activity.

This open house is free and open to the public.
